The upcoming 2024 Annual Meeting is scheduled to take place in Chicago, Illinois from January 4-7. We are currently examining the feedback received from the 2023 hybrid meeting and assessing the possibilities for both in-person and virtual attendance at the 2024 event.

However, the specific arrangements, including the conference’s structure, format, registration categories, and rates, are still being deliberated. As soon as more information becomes accessible, it will be shared and posted.

2024 Call For Papers

The Program Committee of the 2024 Annual Meeting is seeking proposals for both organized sessions and open submissions centered around the theme of “Movement, Mobility, and Displacement” as it relates to individuals, objects, and/or concepts.

We particularly encourage sessions that offer comparative viewpoints from various regions and time periods, and that also delve into current topics like climate change, challenges to cultural identity and heritage, military conflicts, diseases, and natural calamities.

Moreover, we value sessions that focus on specific regions or time periods, and we hope to include them significantly in the program of the meeting.

The Call for Papers and submission forms are now available. It is important to note that the first deadlines apply to colloquia, joint AIA/SCS sessions, and open-session submissions that require an early decision to facilitate visa acquisition or secure funding.

The first deadline falls on either March 27 or April 10 (Monday) and incurs a $25 fee.

The second deadline, also with a $25 fee, applies to workshops, open session papers, poster submissions, and colloquia and workshops that have been provisionally accepted and are resubmitting.

November 1, 2023, is the deadline specifically for Lightning Session and Roundtable submissions.

Future Meeting Locations

  • 2024 (Jan 4-7 ) – Chicago, IL
  • 2025 (Jan 2-5 ) – Philadelphia, PA
