Established to honor AIA Honorary President Jane Waldbaum, this scholarship aims to assist students embarking on their initial foray into archaeological fieldwork. Particularly, students majoring in archaeology or related disciplines are urged to submit their applications. The scholarship fund serves to cover expenses linked to participation in archaeological fieldwork projects, requiring a minimum stay of one month or four weeks.
Eligibility for this scholarship extends to students who have initiated their junior year of undergraduate studies during the application period and have not yet completed their initial year of graduate school at a U.S. or Canadian college or university. Prospective applicants must be at least 18 years old and should lack prior experience in any form of archaeological fieldwork. The selection committee will assess both academic accomplishments and financial need during their evaluation. The application window spans from winter through to the specified due date.
AIA scholarships welcome students from diverse backgrounds, with a particular encouragement for minority and disadvantaged students to apply.
